What time will my tour start?

On the week of your tour we send you an email to confirm the time and place where your trip will begin. Departure times vary slightly, but you can plan to arrive at our airport between 10 and 11 a.m. to start your adventure.

What should I wear?

We often land in fields and right next to vineyards, so please take this into consideration when selecting your footwear. You’ll also be getting on and off the aircraft while the helicopter blades are moving, so you may want to leave hats and free-flowing items like scarves at home.

What is the cancellation policy? What happens if weather cancels my tour?

If you need to cancel your tour for any reason, you’ll receive a full refund as long as you cancel at least 48 hours before your flight date. Less than 48-hour notice will result in a cancellation fee due to the amount of planning and preparation that goes into each tour. We’ll also refund you if the weather forces us to cancel your tour before it begins — or we can help you reschedule your tour for another day.

What kind of breakfast and lunch will be provided?

Breakfast is a fresh assortment of sweet and savory treats like fruit, artisan cheeses, pastries, and salmon to snack on as you sip your pre-flight sparkling wine.

Lunch is a gourmet picnic lunch provided by Red Hills Market, including a selection of artisan cheeses and cured meats, accompanied by flatbread crackers, mustard, and jellies arranged beautifully on a custom cutting board. We will serve European-style sandwiches with pickled vegetables, local hazelnuts, fresh berries, and a sweet finale of local chocolates.

If you have any food allergies, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance so that we can pass your dietary restrictions to the chef.

How much does a wine country helicopter tour cost?

Three Winery Tour $2,200 can accommodate up to 4 guests.

Two Winery Tour $1,900 can accommodate up to 4 guests.

(Our pricing does not include tasting fees or custom add-ons that you may be interested in.)

Where will my tour start?

Your tour begins at our airport in McMinnville, where you will enjoy delicious breakfast bites and bubbly before takeoff. Get directions here: 3800 NE Three Mile Ln., McMinnville, OR 97128

Alternatively, we offer custom pickup options for an additional fee. We can arrange a helicopter pickup from another nearby location, such as downtown Portland, Salem, or at your lodging or residence.

Can I bring children or pets?

Yes, we are kid friendly and dog friendly (assuming your dog is helicopter friendly).

Do wineries charge tasting fees?

Each winery sets its own fees, so some wineries will charge a tasting fee while others may not. Most wineries will waive the fee when you purchase a certain number of bottles. Either way, we recommend bringing a little cash with you on your tour.

Can my group pick which wineries we go to?

Yes, you can request a winery within the region we are flying to on your tour date — either McMinnville AVA, Eola-Amity Hills AVA, or Chehalem Valley AVAs. The wineries you will fly to will be based on your preferences, other party preferences, tasting availability, and the lunch stop as some do not allow outside food. We unfortunately cannot fly to all three regions on our regularly scheduled tour dates, but we are happy to do everything we can to tailor your experience to your individual preferences. We are also happy to book a custom tour outside of our regularly scheduled tour dates if availability allows. If you don’t see a destination you are interested in on our website, please don’t hesitate to call us and ask!

How many people can fit on a helicopter?

We recommend groups of four people, but we can fit five on the helicopter (and sometimes six as long as we stay under the helicopter’s weight restriction and your party does not mind a tight fit).

*As a precaution during COVID-19, the maximum number of people per tour will be 4 to keep groups small.

What is included in my tour?

Your tour will start with pre-takeoff breakfast bites and a glass of bubbles to start the morning.

Next, you will experience either three or four helicopter rides (depending on which tour you book), each to a different winery where you will enjoy wine tastings. At your second winery you will be served a gourmet picnic lunch provided by Red Hills Market.

Finally, you and your group will enjoy your last flight back to our airport.

How long is a wine country helicopter tour?

Tour days start between 10 and 11 a.m. and end between 3:45 and 5 p.m. depending on your group’s departure time. You can expect roughly five hours of wine touring fun.

How many people can you accommodate?

We can accommodate up to 4 small groups of 4 people in a day. If you have a larger party, we’ll arrange for you to travel on separate flights, but to all the same locations. This is a really great large party adventure!

Can you recommend nearby lodging?

There are many lovely places to stay in and around the Willamette Valley. These are a few we recommend:

  • The Allison Inn & Spa
  • Abbey Road Farm B&B
  • Black Walnut Inn
  • Brookside Inn
  • Chehalem Ridge
  • The DreamGiver’s Inn
  • Le Puy
  • The Market Lofts
  • Wine Country Farm B&B
  • Youngberg Hill
Can the weather affect my tour?

Yes, weather can affect flying. The pilot must have at least two miles of visibility. Rain and light winds are no problem, but a low cloud ceiling and fog can make visibility too low to safely fly. We always keep an eye on weather conditions leading up to your tour and will keep you informed of any potential issues.
